M E S S Y . . . 🧡 Room. Sofa. Bedroom. Kitchen. Hair, don't care! Sometimes you just have to let it slip. Occasionally I have all my eggs in one basket but more often than not there is all the 'stuff' that needs doing (that probably should have been done a week ago). Let go. This morning was spent in my PJ's, smelling extremely bad after a couple of days wear after working long shifts, hadn't brushed my teeth or hair, or washed up, or thrown stuff in the bin, or replied to emails, or tidied AND Liam's mum was coming round to pick Albert up soon. But what wasn't visible is that Liam had just done a night shift so we where letting him sleep and also transforming the living room into the dragon hidden world. I left my phone, my coffee to go cold, my need to groom (& wash), the need to tidy before guests and get dressed before lunchtime. We had the best morning. These moments of play are so special and by the time the grandparents arrived to pick up Albert I honestly couldn't care less what they thought of me. I do not always find enough time to play with my son, I know that. Life, sickness, work, chores, appointments... There's always something else. This morning was a reminder to just stop doing more often and give my whole self and attention to the place it is needed the most. S T Y L E - I T - O U T 🤠 When he insists on wearing mummy's hat to keep warm 🤷‍♀️ Poor little man has been full of illness this past week, he's a trooper though. I cancelled a shopping trip today in aid of lazing on the sofa or in bed all day and luckily it's half term so he's off nursery this week (much to my boss's discretion but we won't go there 🙄). So I'm feeling extremely lazy and unproductive today but with illness comes extra clingyness. I heard it's national drink wine day so I am participating in that and staying up late to enjoy be alone 😅🍷

J U S T S T R O N G 👆 That's me. It's not always but it's something I'm learning. I've always considered myself quite a strong person but the past year or so has put me to the test! I am slowly starting to find the fight against my chronic pain. Until recently I have been living with hope, there is a problem, they will find it, they will fix it. For me it's simple, I feel the pain, it suddenly got more severe last year even though I was coping okay and this in my mind is clear proof there is something causing it. Yet nothing can be found. They are not saying I don't feel the pain, however that my nerves are creating more pain the more I focus on said pain. It's a vicious loop and very hard to come to terms with. The more I do the worse it gets - I also see this as proof of a problem - yet again I am told there is no clear cause. I get it, I just find it hard to accept. Medication, meditation, anti depressants, therapy, scans, positive mindset... all these things are supposed to help. Easier said than done. My thoughts have been up and down over this for a very long time but I feel like now is the time to fight. To try building my surrounding muscles again. To push it to the back of my mind. To deal, to cope instead of letting it rule ✌️ TANRHO10 FOR 10% OFF 😘

C U T E 🦒 This guy, despite his recent attitude, really does make my heart melt with his kindness and understanding. The lack of sleep, medication side effects and sinus infection has completely got to me today. I have been an absolute jackass. Telling him off when he's just trying to play, asking him to go away because I can't bear being jumped on and generally being unfair. Did he get upset? No. Because THANKFULLY he knows I don't mean it. He knows me, he can tell when in serious or just stressed out. Instead of getting wound up he treat me with such care, stroking, telling me he loves me and just trying to kiss and cuddle me to cheer me up. I couldn't ask for more. It made the mum guilt worse however I feel so proud that he can read me so well, judge my mood and react accordingly. And in turn it is how I've learnt to respond to him, especially with the difficulty of changes since hitting 3 and starting nursery. I'm not always perfect but the fact that he reflects my kind and gentle way of dealing with difficult behaviour makes me so proud. Of both him and myself, because it goes to show even in my wrongs I have been doing something right 💕

F I G U R E S 🦥 Fluctuations. Meds. Baby growing. Emotions. Self control. Whatever the reason for losing/gaining weight change is always hard to come to terms with, even if your kind to yourself and love your body. When it changes from your norm, for better or worse, it takes some getting used to. I regained lost weight, which is a good thing, yet I'm finding it tricky to dress comfortably. Jeans and a tee no longer do as I can't deal with the tightness of my once baggy jeans. On the plus side it means I've put abit more effort into my look recently! I found this amazing dress in the sale @shopmatalan for just £7! It was a size up but that just makes it all the more comfortable. Which is my tip for changes - permanent or temporary dress for comfort and you will feel better. I kept squeezing into my smallest pair of jeans and had to suck it in all day and basically couldn't move. This didn't make me feel any better. Acceptance, kindness, love and understanding. Show these to yourself, to your changes and know that it's okay to find it hard, but it gets easier as you accept the differences - may they be short or long term. M I D - W E E K 💙 I'm actually in a pretty good mood for a Wednesday. I think I feel better when I'm at work. Last week was lovely but I can't do lounging around all day, it makes me become tired, lazy and bored! 🥱 Maybe I'm weird. To be fair I think we're designed to work, to be active and to use our bodies and brains daily! I find myself telling Albert to sit still sometimes but why should he? Surely I want him to be active - not to become a couch potato. I'm going to try and rephrase it for something more encouraging (because let's face it sometimes they are jumping about on the furniture)! What things do you find yourself saying? 🗣️

T W I T - T W O O 😘 Ohhh I have been waiting since my birthday to wear this dress! Little bit of fake tan, alot of highlighter and I feel like a new woman! We're going out for drinks in York for the Mr's 30th! Child free of course. Cue the hangover tomorrow. This lovely piece is from @asos I got in the sale mid-December. Pretty sure it only cost me like £20 or so! Velvety, Lacey, Embroided, split side it is perrrrfect! So it's a very different effort for #mumstylesaturday this week! Not only do I feel comfortable but also like a million dollars for a change. Join in with Cass @mamas_little_squares 💃
